The Fires That Shape Us is a mixed-media series exploring the biblical metaphor of faith refined through suffering, inspired by 1 Peter 1:7. Drawing from my experience navigating chronic illness, the work reflects on grief, transformation, and learning to trust God through life's trials. Each vignette is housed within a vintage wooden box and constructed from matches, paper, fabric, and found objects, using fire as a symbol of both hardship and spiritual refinement. Through intimate scenes from personal and biblical narratives, the series examines how God can transform suffering into beauty and growth.
